This Week at NWVBC

Our Annual Missions Conference began Sunday, September 21st and will be continuing through the 28th.

Joining us as the keynote speaker is Mr. Matthew Recker, Pastor of Heritage Baptist Church in New York City. Mr. Recker has been a church-planter in New York City since 1984 with his wife and three children. In addition to his busy inner-city ministries, Mr. Recker has authored the books, Behold The City and Living on the Edge of Eternity.

This year's theme is centered around the pressing urgency to reap the already ripe harvest of souls. In our comfortable and busy lives, are we guilty of neglecting to see the ready crops around us? Do we participate in the labor that must be done? Are we ready participants in the efforts of Missions?

We invite you to join us for this special event!

Spiritual Emphasis Week

A week of spiritual emphasis at Arrowhead Christian Academy brought Evangelist Billy Ingram to Northwest Valley Baptist Church who also spoke the morning of Sunday, August 31st.

Mr. Ingram is a graduate of Ambassador Baptist College with a Bachelor Degree in Bible. After a brief youth pastorate, God called Billy into the ministry of evangelism. He and his wife, Christy, are based out of Falls Baptist Church in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. They operate a full schedule of local church revival meetings and a special teen-focused evangelistic ministry.

We are thankful for the Lord's work in the lives of our students under the ministry of Mr. Ingram and for the challenge Mr. Ingram gave all of us to live pure lives out of pure hearts.

Kids 4 Truth Guest Speaker

Director of Kids 4 Truth, Bob Roberts, visited Northwest Valley Baptist Church August 9-10, bringing refreshing challenge and encouragement to our church family. On Sunday, Mr. Roberts spoke out of Luke 5 reminding us of the awe and humility that comes from knowing Christ, Our God. That same evening, the value of knowing what we believe and passing that knowledge to the next generation was presented by Mr. Roberts. Copies of his messages are available by contacting our office.
Thank you Mr. Roberts for your inspiring visit!

On Its Own, July 2008

The Spanish ministry that has been held on the campus of Northwest Valley Baptist Church for nearly three years has launched off onto its own property among the Spanish-speaking population in Phoenix. Now named Iglesia Bautista Vida en Cristo (Life in Christ Baptist Church), the church held its first Sunday services at the new location on July 6th with an attendance of 47 people. Those first services welcomed several visitors, one of whom was saved that day! This is the fifth church that Northwest has seen planted. We are excited for the future of this congregation and ask that you participate in prayer for this group of believers.
