The worship and music at Northwest Valley Baptist Church is different from many churches for a purpose. We are purposefully traditional and conservative. Our desire is to engage the minds and hearts of God's people in the deliberate worship of the God who made and saved us. We make every effort to avoid music that would distract God's people from focusing upon their Creator. We do not include worship music for the purpose of entertainment. God is the audience of our worship and we are focused on doing what we believe pleases Him.
Because our emphasis is on truth in worship, we have a deep appreciation for the great hymns of the faith that not only communicate God's truth with such majesty and power, but also connect us with centuries of precious believers who have gone before us.
We do not believe that music is amoral. Both the verbal and emotional message of the music should be appropriate, God-honoring, and consistent.
We also believe the ministry of worship involves the whole congregation. From the youngest children to the most seasoned adults, our people participate in singing, playing musical instruments, dramatic presentations, and other aspects of worship. At Northwest Valley Baptist Church, worship is truly a family event with a focus upon the Creator.
