We are committed to world-wide evangelism (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1). We are committed to reaching our Jerusalem–that is the Northwest Valley–with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Part of world-wide missions is being a witness to our neighbors, friends and coworkers. We are seeking to reach our Judea–the greater metropolitan Phoenix area. We are doing it through encouragement of other churches, and in the future church-planting right here in the Phoenix metro area. We are committed to reaching Samaria. For us Samaria is the SW United States, which is growing in population at a tremendous rate and is devoid of any kind of sufficient gospel witness. It’s been a blessing to see four churches planted in our Samaria in the last few years. And of course, we want to reach the uttermost parts of the earth. We have been doing this through financial participation in missionary works around the world. We are getting involved as individuals through Faith Promise Missions and how wonderfully God has been blessing there. Our faith promise total giving for fiscal 06-07 was over $103,000.
Personal discipleship (Hebrews 10:24). The Great Commission is not complete without proper discipling. New Christians have to grow. They have to learn the scriptures and be able to wield the sword of the Word for themselves. After all, we will be dependent upon them to pass the faith on to the next generation.
Family Ministry (Ephesians 5, Colossians 3, 1 Peter 3). No other divinely ordained institution is under attack today more than the family. It is being ripped apart through the degrading of the marriage institution, divorce, infidelity, fornication in epidemic proportions. Children are being spoiled, coddled, and at the same time, neglected by their parents. We have placed careers, and even our own entertainment above their welfare. Our churches are now full of parents who have no idea how to establish a Christian home–in fact, they don’t even know what one looks like. Because of this, we have chosen to make a significant commitment to teaching parents how to have a Christian home. We do it through parent training, teen training, teaching from the pulpit, specific family worship services, and more.
God has done great things here already in the short time this ministry has been in existence. We are looking forward to seeing Him do even greater things in the future. In all this, it is extremely important that we avoid the distraction that might move us away from our biblical and Spirit-led purposes.
